Embark on a solar-powered boat tour around one of the world’s largest inland floating solar PV systems – the Sembcorp Tengeh Floating Solar Farm. With over 122,000 floating solar panels spanning 45 hectares, this 60MWp solar farm is a significant stride towards contributing to the nation’s solar energy deployment by 2025. The clean energy generated allows more of PUB’s water system to be powered by renewable energy. This floating solar farm will enable Singapore to be one of the few countries in the world to integrate green technology with water treatment.
The electricity generated from the solar farm can power about 16,000 four-room HDB flats, equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by about 32 kilotonnes a year or taking 7,000 cars off the roads. The Sembcorp Tengeh Floating Solar Farm was also carefully designed to minimise impact on the reservoir’s water quality, flora and fauna. This immersive experience promises unparalleled insights into the harmonious blend of innovation and environmental responsibility.

For the first webinar on Sustainability and Reporting, our Deputy Director, Ms Sue Meng Chan, demystified the concept of sustainability and its environment, social and governance (ESG) areas, as well as the importance for businesses to integrate sustainability into their strategy and operations. She also shared about the various resources provided by UN GCNS that companies can tap into to learn and operationalise sustainability in their business.
In the second webinar of our SME Series 2022, we tackle the whys and hows of carbon management, as well as shed some light and address misconceptions, on the topic of RECs and how SMEs can leverage this tool. We were joined by Mr Zulkhairi Pasuni, Commercial and Sales Lead from Sembcorp Industries, who explained how RECs work and the role they play in reducing global emissions.
In the third webinar of the SME Series 2022, our guest speakers from UOB, Ms Moi and Mr Ow, shed light on the trends and importance of sustainable finance and UOB’s sustainable financing frameworks to help companies fund their projects. This was followed by Mr Tan who shared about the challenges and opportunities for SMEs in accessing green finance.
